New This Week In Comics 3/1-3/7

It’s another MARVELous week here at RSRG Entertainment. This week we will be discussing two titles from Marvel Comics. One is a title we have reviewed since the book started and the other is a new on-going series. Let’s not waste any more time and dive in.

All-New Hawkeye #1
Written by Jeff Lemire Art by Ramon Perez

A lot of times it’s tough to follow up an amazing run such the Eisner winning Hawkeye but Lemire and Perez seem to be up for the challenge. This new series will feature both Clint Barton and Kate Bishop as they do missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. In this issue is really cool because it tells two different stories that lead us to the same path. One is of a young Clint Barton dealing with childhood in the foster system and the other is a current mission to find a secret weapon that HYDRA has. The way they tell the story through two different forms of art is amazing. The water color style used in the flash back scenes are so amazing and the standard comic style for the current is good as well. The flash back scenes with Perez’s are is truly my favorite part of this book. While I’m not the biggest Hawkeye fan I really enjoyed this first story and will be sticking around for more and you should too.

Operation S.I.N. #3
Written by Kathryn Immonen Art by Rich Ellis

Well we have reached the half way point of this mini series following Agent Carter, Howard Stark and Woodrow McCord and I am loving it. In this issue we learn Howard Stark is a poor driver and doesn’t listen (which we already knew that). ┬áThe team is on a mission to find the aliens which have been hiding out in Russia but they find something even better a ship. We are also introduced a slave work camp run by HYDRA. This mini-series really hit it’s strive in this issue a lot of action and excitement. If you are a fan of the Agent Carter mini series on ABC then you will enjoy this comic. Immonen does a terrific job of writing Peggy and Ellis’ art in this series has been beautiful. The Cover art by Michael Komarck on this series have all been amazing and worthy of hanging on a wall. I can not wait for next month to find out what happens to the gang and learn more about the HYDRA camp.
