Comic Suggestions for 1/14/15

This week’s comic suggestions include two pop culture properties from our childhood. I rarely do two new titles but the excitement for both of these books are so high I figured why not.

The most anticipated book of a long time is finally hitting the shelves today at a comic book store near you, Star Wars #1. It was announced in late 2012 that Disney had purchased the Lucasfilm which included all the property for Star Wars and fans knew it was only a matter of time before Marvel had control of the property.

The new title is written by Marvel superstar Jason Arron and art by John Cassaday. The book follows Luke, Leia and the gang between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.

Many reviews I have read say this is the comic that fans of the franchise have been waiting on so make sure you pick it up!

Looking forward to the release of the next game in the Mortal Kombat franchise in April? While you wait why not check out the prequel comic to the game today?

Mortal Kombat X takes place 25 years after the last game which was released in 2011. The new series will feature your favorites from the game including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden and many more new characters. Mortal Kombat X is one of DC Comics digital first meaning after you read issue one if that not enough visit their site every Sunday for more, or you can just wait for print. This title is written by Shawn Kittelson and art by Dexter Soy.

You can find both of these books at your local show this week!
